Wart Treatment

What Causes Warts?

When human papillomavirus (HPV) infects the top layer of the skin, the result is a wart. If you cut or damage your skin in some way, you may become more susceptible to warts. These viruses are contagious and can spread by contact with the wart or something that touched the wart. Warts can grow on any part of your body and are often skin-colored and feel rough, but they can be dark, flat and smooth.

What Are the Treatments for Warts?

Warts are usually treated with liquid Nitrogen placed on the warts. There are a few other topical medications as well as surgical options that can be used to help the patient get rid of their warts. These options can be discussed with your Dermatologist.
