About Sonal Parikh, MD, FAAD

Dr. Sonal Parikh is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who specializes in the treatment of skin cancer. She was born and raised in Long Island, NY, then received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and graduated summa cum laude and with University Honors from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, where she also minored in psychology, Spanish, and chemistry. She stayed in Richmond and earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. During medical school, Dr. Parikh spent a year with Columbia University Medical Center’s department of Dermatology completing a Cutaneous Oncology Research fellowship. After medical school, she stayed at VCU Health to complete her internship in Internal Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Connecticut Health in Farmington, Connecticut, and served as Chief Resident her final year. She then completed her Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX, where she trained under the internationally renowned Dr. Leonard Goldberg.

Dr. Parikh has authored multiple book chapters and articles published in peer-reviewed dermatology journals and has presented her work at national meetings.

In her free time, Dr. Parikh enjoys the outdoors, traveling, exploring new cuisine, arts and crafts, and spending time with her husband, friends, and family.
