About Simo Huang, MD, FAAD

Simo Huang, MD, is a board-certified Houston dermatologist who specializes in general dermatology and dermatopathology. Dr. Huang grew up in Houston, Texas and later attended the University of Chicago where he completed a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Endocrinology. Upon graduating summa cum laude, Dr. Huang moved to Cleveland, Ohio where he conducted cancer research at Case Western University as a lab manager and research technologist. He returned to Houston, Texas to attend medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Huang completed his transitional year at Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program and completed his dermatology residency at Temple University where he served as chief resident. Dr. Huang subsequently completed a fellowship in dermatopathology at Thomas Jefferson University where he also worked as clinical faculty and returned to Houston to serve as the dermatopathology laboratory director for DermSurgery Associates.

Dr. Huang has authored publications in peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, and Nature Communications. He has presented at regional and national conferences and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatopathology, Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, and Texas Medical Association.
