A new physician is joining our team at the DermSurgery Associates office at 7515 Main Street in Houston. Scarlett Boulos, MD, will begin seeing patients October 2, 2017.
Dr. Boulos is a board-certified dermatologist whose interests include surgical, laser, general and pediatric dermatology; skin cancer treatment; and treatment of skin disorders such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, pigmented lesions, port wine stains, infantile hemangiomas and others.
After graduating cum lade from Rice University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, she went on to the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, where she earned her medical doctorate. She followed with an internal medicine internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and then attended Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, for residency training in dermatology. She was chief resident her final year.
Dr. Boulos then completed a pediatric dermatology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she underwent advanced training in surgical and laser treatment for children that covered a variety of complex pediatric conditions.
During her years of training, Dr. Boulos made a number of academic presentations, wrote several peer-reviewed publications and authored a bimonthly column called “Spot the Rash,” which focused on infection diseases in children.
A native of Houston, Dr. Boulos is a fluent speaker of English, Spanish, Arabic and French. In her spare time, she likes to travel, spend time with her husband and family and sample the amazing local cuisine at Houston-area restaurants and cafes.
