Our director, Dr. Leonard Goldberg, is a world-recognized authority on Mohs surgery and is in-demand as a medical instructor, lecturer and author for this amazing surgical process. Dr. Goldberg has taught Mohs surgery in high-level academic positions and has received numerous awards over the years honoring his work relating to the procedure.
What is Mohs surgery?
The surgical discipline derives its name from Frederic E. Mohs, the Wisconsin physician who developed it in the 1930s. Mohs surgery focuses on removing and examining small sections of the patient’s skin where cancer is suspected. Rather than being a drastic, invasive operation, Mohs surgery is a gradual, gentle skin-removal process that stops when the last section of tissue examined shows no signs of cancer.

You may have already learned a little about Dr. Goldberg, who practices at our main DermSurgery clinic on Main Street in the Houston Medical Center as well as at Houston Methodist Hospital. Now we’d like to introduce you to some of our other distinguished doctors, all of whom have the most advanced specialized training and in-depth knowledge to help you strike back at skin cancer.
Anna Drosou, MD
Dr. Drosou provides Mohs Surgery services to our patients at our Kingwood, Beaumont and Pearland clinic locations. She’s a board-certified dermatologist with specialized training in both surgical and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Drosou completed her specialized Mohs Surgery training with Dr. Goldberg.
Arash Kimyai-Asadi, MD
Dr. Kimyai-Asadi practices at our main location as well as performs Mohs Surgery at our clinics in Katy and Brenham. As a board-certified dermatologist, he specializes in Mohs skin cancer surgery. He completed a triple major in his three undergraduate years at Johns Hopkins and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and also completed fellowship with Dr. Goldberg.
Lucile White, MD
Dr. White practices at our Main Street location in Houston. After receiving her medical degree with honors from the University of Chicago’s School of Medicine, she completed her dermatology residency at the university’s hospitals, serving for a time as chief resident. She completed a Mohs Surgery and Laser Fellowship with Dr. Murad Alam, a former fellow of Dr. Goldberg’s.
Diane Trieu, MD
Dr. Trieu practices at the DermSurgery location in The Woodlands. She is a board-certified dermatologist with specialized training in surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She completed her undergraduate training, medical degree and dermatology residency at Tulane University. Dr. Trieu also completed her fellowship training in Mohs surgery under Dr. Goldberg.
