Houston Dermatologist, Heather Kornmehl, MD

Heather Kornmehl, MD is a board certified dermatologist who has interests in general, pediatric, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Kornmehl received her bachelor’s degree in Health Studies from Monmouth University, from which she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was the valedictorian of her major. She earned her medical doctorate from Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Kornmehl completed a dermatology research fellowship year under the mentorship of internationally renowned psoriasis expert, April Armstrong, MD, MPH at the University of Southern California. Dr. Kornmehl completed her internal medicine internship at UCLA- Olive View in Sylmar, California. She subsequently completed her dermatology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Kornmehl has given multiple academic presentations at dermatologic conferences,  and has authored many peer-reviewed publications. She has also served on dermatologic treatment advisory boards.

Dr. Kornmehl seeks to devise a unique, individualized treatment strategy for each patient, thoroughly communicates her rationale, and believes in prioritizing her patients’ thoughts, feelings, and wishes. Dr. Kornmehl’s patients value her attentiveness to their needs, thoughtful, straightforward approach, and dedication to their care.
