Arash Kimyai-Asadi, MD

Arash Kimyai-Asadi, MDArash Kimyai-Asadi, M.D. is a board-certified Dermatologist specializing in Mohs micrographic surgery for the treatment of skin cancers. During his 3 years as an undergraduate student at the Johns Hopkins University School of Arts and Science, he completed a triple major, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with Bachelors of Arts in Biology, Philosophy, and Psychology. He subsequently attended medical school at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his dermatology training at the prestigious Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University, where he served as a resident and chief resident. Subsequently, he completed a Mohs micrographic surgery fellowship accredited by the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology at DermSurgery Associates with Dr. Leonard Goldberg.

Dr. Asadi has published over 75 articles and book chapters in clinical and surgical dermatology. His current research focuses on techniques that improve cancer detection at surgical margins thereby minimizing recurrence rates after cancers are surgically removed, as well as improved techniques for aesthetic reconstruction of the face after skin cancer removal. He is regularly invited to present his techniques and research findings at national meetings that focus on dermatologic and reconstructive surgery. He is a member of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology. As an expert in skin cancer surgery and aesthetic reconstruction after removal of skin cancers, he receives hundreds of referrals each year from dermatologists around the Houston metropolitan area and beyond.
