We offer a variety of chemical peels, depending on your needs. Not all peels are equal. Angela will recommend the peel strength and type to achieve the best results for you. Skin brighteners are an effective alternative for patients who do not want to experience visible flaking that is common with some chemical peels. Peels vary in strength and penetration and can effectively reduce fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots in many different skin types with varying degrees of skin damage. Juvederm

We now offer Juvederm. It is the newest FDA approved injectable filler. It is a 'next generation' of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that provides a smooth, long-lasting correction of facial wrinkles and folds. It contains the highest concentration of non-animal and cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any dermal filler currently available providing optimal results with sustained results for up to six months or longer.

Restylane

Restylane is also available and FDA approved. It is derived from a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid, therefore eliminating the need for skin testing. Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast

Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast are also available and FDA approved. They are made of highly purified human-based collagen. It can be injected into the collagen layer just below the skin to fill in unwanted lines and wrinkles and restore the border of the lip. No skin testing is required

Fraxel Re:Pair

We are pleased to announce the addition of the Fraxel SR1500 to our list of lasers. The Fraxel SR1500 is an updated version of the original Fraxel laser. Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser Skin Resurfacing

This procedure is designed to combat the effects of aging in a softer, gentler way. This revolutionary process delivers the laser energy through your skin's surface to gently stimulate the production of collagen while protecting the outer layer of skin. The new collagen softens the appearance of aging skin. The Smoothbeam and Nd:Yag lasers are being used at our center for nonablative skin rejuvenation and for the treatment of acne scars. These laser treatments are performed with topical or no anesthesia, and there is no need for post-treatment skin care. Following the treatment, patients can return to normal activities with only mild redness lasting for several hours. A series of treatments are required to obtain the maximum benefit of treatment.

Liposuction

Liposuction was developed specifically to remove bulges or fat deposits from areas of the body where exercise and weight loss programs have been ineffective. Microdermabrasion

Developed and used for years in Europe, this in office treatment has rapidly gained popularity in the United States. The skin is gently buffed using light pressure and ultra fine particles, which gradually smoothes down the superficial layers of skin. This results in a very smooth and healthy appearing skin surface. This is an excellent procedure for people with very sensitive skin and those patients with darker skin. It also has resulted in improved appearance of both wrinkles and acne scars.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)

How does photodynamic skin care therapy work?
In photodynamic therapy a photosensitizer is applied to the skin. This is absorbed preferentially by certain structures in the skin, such as hair follicles, oil glands, bacteria, or rapidly growling cells. Illumination with a high-intensity light or lasers causes a reaction in the skin, resulting in destruction of the targeted tissue.

What types of conditions can be treated with photodynamic therapy?
Photodynamic therapy has been effective in the treatment of actinic keratosis (pre-cancerous spots), sun damaged skin, acne, warts, and many other diseases.

How does photodynamic therapy treat acne?
Photodynamic therapy seems to improve acne by decreasing the bacteria on the skin and by shrinking the oil producing sebaceous glands.

Is photodynamic therapy uncomfortable?
During PDT the skin is washed several times and the activated substance is applied. Either of these may cause stinging. Following the skin care treatment there may be some transient itching and a mild sunburn sensation.

May I be exposed to the sun following photodynamic therapy?
After PDT, a small amount of activated substance remains in the skin for 24 to 48 hours. Sunlight and even indoor light may affect this and cause itching. Use of sunscreen and a hat may diminish these undesired effects.

What should I expect after my photodynamic therapy treatment?
Most people experience mild burning or itching for about one hour after the skin care procedure, although this can last a day to two. Mild to moderate redness may be experienced for 24 to 48 hours. Only gently emollients should be applied to the skin.

Areas most likely to swell are around the eyes. This will subside within several hours. Application of ice or cold packs may help.

Peeling of treated skin may occur several days after the skin care procedure and can be alleviated by gentle washing and application of a slightly thicker moisturizer. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects seem severe or cause significant discomfort
