DermSurgery Laser Center opened in 2002. At the DermSurgery Laser Center, we offer technologically advanced services using the finest lasers and customized treatment options for our patients. Services provided in the Laser Center include BOTOX® and Dysport® Injections; Fillers (Juvéderm®, Restylane®, Perlane, Collagen, Cosmoderm, Cosmoplast, Hylaform, Hylaform Plus); Fraxel® Store (SR1500); Fraxel® Pair; Resurfacing (CO2 laser, Erbium laser); Laser toning; (SmoothBeam™ Yag laser); Acne Laser/Light treatment (SmoothBeam™, PDT); Pigmented Lesion Removal (Q-Switched ruby laser and Nd:Yag laser); Vascular Lesion Removal (V-Beam Perfecta®, Cynergy); Photodynamic Therapy(PDT); Leg Vein Treatment(Lasers, Sclerotherapy); Chemical Peels; Hair Removal (Altus™ and Light Sheer Diode™) and Thermage Treatment.

Laser treatment options available at DermSurgery Laser Center:

FRAXEL® RE: STORE (SR1500) LASER TREATMENT

For acne scars, fine lines, moderate wrinkles, mild laxity, sun damage, mottled pigmentation, melasma, loss of pigmentation, surgical scars, stretch marks
Minimal to no recovery time for most patients
Temporary redness, swelling and bronzing of the skin can be seen
4-6 treatments are required
Skin continues to improve for several months

FRAXEL® RE: PAIR LASER TREATMENT

For deeper wrinkles, acne scars, surgical scars, sun damage, and skin laxity
Can be used on the face and neck
Temporary redness, swelling, bronzing, and pinpoint bleeding can be seen
At home recovery period of 2-3 days, regular activity can resume in as few as 5 days
Single treatment usually required
Skin continues to improve for several months

RESURFACING (CO2 laser, Erbium laser)

For sun damage, fine lines, mottled pigmentation, scarring, moderate wrinkles
Lasers remove upper portions of skin layer by layer in a precisely controlled manner, effectively rejuvenating and tightening skin
Patients generally pre-treat the face with topical creams for two weeks prior to the procedure
Recovery period can range from 5 – 10 days
Patients are red for a few months following treatment, but this can be covered effectively with makeup

LASER TONING (SmoothBeam™ Yag laser)

For acne scars, age-related skin changes, fine wrinkles, irregular skin texture
These lasers are used in tandem stimulating collagen production at different depths in the skin, ultimately giving it a healthy glow and smoother texture
Often takes two months to appreciate results, improvement may continue for up to a year following last treatment
Treatments are typically performed monthly

THERMAGE

Tightens the skins via sustained heating of tissue
or skin laxity in jowls, laugh lines, forehead, marionette lines, neck, buttocks, extremities, abdomen, eyelids and hands
Results may be seen immediately and continue to improve up to 6 months following treatment

ACNE LASER/LIGHT TREATMENT (SmoothBeam™ PDT)

For treatment of active acne, acne scarring, and oily skin
Shrinks oil producing glands of the skin to treat acne and reduce bacterial production
Stimulates collagen production to diminish the appearance of scarring
Requires multiple treatments

PIGMENTED LESION REMOVAL (Q-Switched ruby laser and Yag laser)

For solar lentigos (sun spots), tattoos, nevus of Ota (melasma), and other pigmented lesions
Laser specifically targets the darker region of skin being treated and clears the lesion, leaving normal surrounding skin unharmed
May require multiple treatments

VASCULAR LESION REMOVAL (V-Beam Perfecta®, Cynergy)

For broken or enlarged blood vessels, scars, Hemangiomas, port wine stains, and other vascular lesions
Multiple treatments may be required for desired results
Minimal to no recovery period, unless the treatment is for hemagioma or congenital venous malformation

PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY (PDT)

For pre-cancerous skin lesions (actinic Keratosis), acne and skin rejuvenation
Uses a topical cream prior to laser or light treatment
Requires strict sun and bright light avoidance after the procedure

LEG VEIN TREATMENT (Lasers and Sclerotherapy)

For small superficial blood vessels on the legs
A small amount of sclerosing solution is injected into the affected veins, causing the vessel walls to collapse and ultimately go away
May require multiple treatments for desired results
Lasers may be used if indicated for certain types of leg veins

TATTOO REMOVAL LASERS (Q-Switched Ruby and Yag)

For unwanted tatoos
Unwanted tattoo is treated with lasers approximately every six to twelve weeks
Requires multiple treatments for desired results
An anesthetic is injected prior to treatment to reduce discomfort
